Schemes for Handicapped (Persons with Disabilities)

There is no Caste criteria for Handicapped members. All male handicapped(Disabled Persons) who are permanent residents of Jammu & Kashmir State, with physical disability of 40% or more, unemployed and minimum age is 18 years, are eligible for grant of loan under the NHFDC schemes.

Schemes for Persons With Disabilities(PWDs) in collaboration with “National Handicapped Finance & Development Corporation (NHFDC), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJ&E), Department of Disabilities, Govt. of India, New Delhi”

The Financing schemes for socio-economic upliftment of eligible Persons With Disabilities(PWDs) category persons, to establish income generating unit is available in collaboration with’ National Handicapped Finance & Development Corporation(NHFDC), Govt. of India, New Delhi.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SCHEME INCOLLABORATION WITH “ NHFDC” ( including EDUCATIONAL LOAN/SKILL DEVELOPMENT/TRAINING PROGRAMMES)

  • One should belong to Handicapped( physical Disabilities) category.
  • One should be permanent resident of the J&K State.
  • One should be unemployed
  • One should having necessary skill/ experience in the activity/ trade applied for.
  • The applicant who intends to avail loan for purchase of vehicle should have valid driving license for the type of vehicle applied for.
  • One should not be a defaulter of any bank/ financial institution.
  • Besides above mentioned eligibility criteria for Handicapped persons, the Disability of Handicapped beneficiary should be 40% and age should be above 18 years. In case of disabled professional youths the age should be 18-45 years for availing loan under NHFDC Scheme.

The “NHFDC, New Delhi has not fixed any income criteria under its schemes. However, the preference will be given to the persons living Below Double the Poverty Line.

Educational loan Scheme for students of Physical Disabled category(Handicapped)

The corporation in collaboration with NHFDC is providing Educational Loan to the students of the target group for pursuing professional /Technical courses in India and abroad, at the following funding pattern:-

Skill Development Programme:

The corporation has been undertaking various skill development programme by imparting training to the candidates of the target groups to develop their skills and knowledge with a view to enhance their competence for wage employment /self employment. Under the scheme the corporation arranges need based vocational training/ skill development programme with the financial support from NHFDC or other sources. The corporation bears 100% cost of the Training.

MARKETING LINKAGES
Besides other development activities, the corporation is promoting facilities for its beneficiaries by providing opportunities to participate in the country’s leading fairs like; India International Trade Fair, Dilli Haat, Surajkund Craft Mela as well as in exhibitions/fairs organized in other States on important occasions and festivals etc. The events not only give much needed marketing exposure to these artisans/beneficiaries but also provide an opportunity to market their products at good price which usually they find difficult in their own places.

The corporation can assist a wide range of activities for financing mainly under the following broad sectors:
